This hanging jade hu was the first piece in Joseph Lizzadro's collection. Joseph did lapidary work as a hobby, meaning he would cut and polish precious and semiprecious stones for use in jewelry and decoration. But when this green jade bottle arrived in the mail, Joseph was so stunned by the craftsmanship that he thought it was too beautiful to cut. From there, he began collecting Chinese jade carvings and other valuable sculptures throughout the world.
