Two foundation stones were created for the Sydney Harbour Bridge; one for Richard Ball (Minister for Public Works) and one for Sir Dudley de Chair (State Governor). For the official setting of the stones in 1925 the positioning was arbitrary. The photograph shows the resetting Sir Dudley De Chair's stone in its permanent position in the south abutment tower of Sydney Harbour Bridge.
The photographer was possibly Henri Mallard.
