At the Municipal Stadium in Nuremberg, the Hitler Youth members displayed their obedience, seriousness of purpose, and military discipline. But for many of these young people, the event's leisure activities and the chance to sleep in tent camps mainly represented a break from everyday routine. Many were unwilling later to accept that in their appearances at the Nazi Party Rallies from 1933 to 1938 they were also being exploited to serve mainly for propaganda purposes.
