This holy water sprinkler is one of the oldest exhibits in the Ethnographic Department of the Kalisz Regional Museum. The folk-style sprinkler is glazed in a light green color and decorated with ornamental painting. In the center, there is a bas-relief depiction of the Crucified Christ. The top of the sprinkler is crowned with a domed roof. Symmetrically placed at the base is a recessed area for holy water. On the exterior side, the hierogram "IHS" and the date "1814" are inscribed.
In folk culture, the holy water sprinkler was an important object associated with the use of holy water, which was attributed with profound spiritual significance. Holy water sprinklers were essential items in the furnishings of peasant households. They could be made of wood, metal, or ceramics. They facilitated the blessing of the household members and the daily act of entrusting oneself to God.
