Il Cielo Stellato

Il Cielo Stellato is a film project focused on the media digitization of the centuries-old rite of the Madonna della Bruna di Matera. Taking part in various editions of the festival, during the Strazzo del Carro della Bruna, we realized that the ancient starry sky of Matera, sung by travelers, has become a horizon of luminous mobiles above the heads of the public. The work collects movies, stories, personal and collective memories of the ritual over time, comparing them with the starry sky - the virtual vector cloud of points - originated by contemporary techniques of digital preservation through 3D photogrammetries in models of Point clouds. A documentary of experimental creation, both collective and choral, aimed at understanding how a centuries-old oral memory changes through digital transmission, settling in time through its images.
