An illustration of Empress Myeongseong’s (1895-1895) funeral in 1897 (Gwangmu 1). Three years after she was assassinated by the Japanese killers, in 1897, she was given a posthumous title ‘Empress Myeongseong’, and state funeral was held. The funeral was held grand to meet a class of an empress. In one morning in October 1897, the procession left Gyeongungung palace and went on to Hongneung. 『Binjeonyibong Gyeongungungsi banchado)』, which illustrates the procession of moving her bier from Gyeongbokgung to Gyeongungung in 1896, is also included.
