Brazil went to the Rome 1960 games with a delegation formed by 81 athletes, being a woman. In the luggage back, two bronze medals: one in the male basketball, the other with Manoel dos Santos Junior, swimming.
Four years later, the games would be played in the city of Tokyo, same place of the next edition. In 1964, we sent 69 athletes, being Auda dos Santos the only woman.
Aida conquered an honorable 4th place in the jump in height and became the first Brazilian athlete to reach an Olympic final.
And the male basketball? Plus the bronze medal, after a victory of 76 to 70 over Puerto Rico.
