In the Surf

One of Mesdag’s most beautiful seascapes, purchased directly from the artist himself. Imposing and so realistic with its high horizon that it makes it seem as if the painter himself was on the water. The sea and fishing were Mesdag’s specialities. He even rented a room in Scheveningen so that he could study them from close by.
