India's first tour of Australia against WA at the WACA Ground

The India cricket team first toured Australia in 1947-48, playing Western Australia twice on tour. Their inaugural match in Australia was against Western Australia at the WACA Ground 17-21 October 1947. This match was drawn but their second match against Western Australia, their final match on tour, was played against the new Sheffield Shield Champions 20-24 February 1948, which Western Australia won by 6 runs.
