An epitaph of crown prince Hyojang(1719-1728)’s tomb written by Yeongjo in 1729 (Year 5 of Yeongjo). An epitaph was a written biography of the deceased person, and it was a custom to have it rubbed before carving on the stone and burying it. In this writing, Yeongjo listed the achievement of his short-lived son and expressed his grief of losing him. According to 『Hyojangseja yejang dogam uigwe』, two memorial stones were buried in front of the burial mound and beforehand, several rubbed copies were made to make them into scrolls. This one was rubbed before the ritual and dedicated to the royal court.
