Caminos de Santiago is the name of a set of pilgrimage routes that go to the tomb of Santiago el mayor, located in Santiago de Compostela, in Galicia, northwest of Spain. Hundreds of thousands of people from different countries and beliefs travel this pilgrimage route every year for different reasons. In the words of Luis Gutiérrez Perrino, president of the Spanish Federation of Associations of Friends of the Camino de Santiago, "The Roads that run through Europe are the tributaries that converge in the great river that is the Camino de Santiago and whose destination and goal is the tomb of the Apostle Santiago ". Image: Oil on canvas by the Galician romantic painter Jenaro P. Villaamil (1807-1854), who shows us the Pórtico de la Gloria and the naves of the cathedral (even the old choir) overflowing with faithful.
