Born in 1956 in Jos, Bona Ezeudu earned a Higher National Diploma at the Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu. He was a member of the “Aka Circle” of artists who exhibited together annually and had their inaugural exhibition in 1986. He has a distinct style which commonly features rapid brush strokes and an outplay of many colors. His works in recent years have been largely influenced by the murder of his only son.
In this piece, he depicts an Igbo masquerade in motion. The rapid brush strokes and bright colors gives the painting a cooling effect. The lines that run across creates a wavy effect and signifies the masquerade in motion.
