The Route of the Museums of Caesaraugusta
Zaragoza, Spain

Jar wall fragment decorated with vegetal themes. The ornaments are arranged in bands separated by moldings, the first shows plant motifs, the second a smooth field furrowed by a continuous wavy line and the third, larger in size, composed of leaves with pointed ends -possible vine leaves- attached to shapes hollow lobed that would be associated with vines, forming polylobular arches.

Due to the similarity of the motifs, this fragment is related to another fragment and a jar upper rim found nearby.
It is common for these elaborate motifs to form part of jars with fin-shaped handles, however our specimen does not present such appendages nor does it have any type of glaze.

A similar specimen appeared in the Almohad abandonment of the Alcáçova do Castelo in Mértola (Portugal).
