This set of printing plates are typeset for printing after restoring the movable metal types used in printing Jikji at Heungdeoksa Temple in Cheongju in 1377 through wax casting method, which is a traditional casting technique. In 2011 to 2015, these metal types were restored by a master craftsman of movable metal type who is designated national intangible cultural heritage no. 101.
