Joan Richmond’s Monte Carlo Rally competitor’s number plate no. 223

A red aluminium car plate with cream edging along three straight sides and a curved top. Embossed printing in cream along its length reads "RALLYE MONTE-CARLO", and "223" is painted above in white. There are five holes along the edges for mounting, and painted on the bottom right edge is the text "Imp sur metoux R.BINDS- CHEDLER [PARIS?]". The plate is dented and scratched in places, and the reverse has splashes of blue paint in the corners.
