John Rutherford the WACA's first men's Test match representative

John Rutherford is the Western Australian Cricket Association's first men's Test match representative. John was selected on the 1956 Australian tour to the United Kingdom, Pakistan and India and made his Test debut against India in the second Test at Brabourne Stadium, Bombai (Mumbai) 26-31 October. John is Australia's 204 Test player. His selection came in the year Western Australia was granted full participation in the Sheffield Shield competition.
