This letter was stored in the box with Muneshige’s talismans and three sheets of prayers. The letter was written as follows: at Muneshige’s request, his vassals visited a shrine of the Amaterasu Omikami (the exact temple is unknown) for praying to cure Muneshige’s illness; offered one hundred kinds of delicacies to the Atago Shrine; and donated a Buddihist altar to a temple of healing in Kyoto (presumably modern Koryu-ji Temple). This proves that Mueshige strongly believed in the gods and Buddha.
