A large, blue-and-white porcelain dish painted in underglazed cobalt blue. The plate displays three deer in the center. The motifs of eight treasures and plants are placed at the circular edge of the plate divided into eight sections in a radial shape.
This porcelain is in style of a Kraak ware, one of the hugely popular blue-and-white wares of that were exported from China to Europe after the 17th century. One of the best known Kraak style was placing auspicious patterns or flower-bird paintings on the center and then partitioning off the outer edge of the circle in radial shape to add more patterns either in forms of eight treasures or plants. This particular piece followed that formula very well.
