Resistência [Resistence]

Painted immediately after the end of the Second World War, this painting has a cinematic character, much like «Marcha» [March] from the same year, both in its horizontal format and in the close-up view of the woman flanked by two soldiers. She is dressed in red and raises her head between the two helmets of the German Stahlhelm model. This painting was seized by the PIDE at the 2ª Exposição Geral de Artes Plásticas (EGAP) [2nd General Exhibition of Plastic Arts].
