Nairobi, Kenya

This is a ladle made by the male craftsmen Kaboshi at Kairi who also make stools etc. Made from the "Mukurwe" tree where the knife is smoothed with sandpaper leaves. It is used by women or men if women are not present for ladling meat soup (without vegetables) out of the pot. It is rubbed clean but just dipped in hot water.
