Legnica, Poland

The city is shown from the south. Churches, monasteries, the castle with towers, the town hall, the Knight's Academy and the gates guarding the defensive walls were described by numbers and legends. In the foreground, the southern suburb with buildings, roads, meadows, Młynówka and staffage is visible. Attention is drawn to the Gothic town hall marked with the number 7, demolished in 1737, which makes it possible to date Werner's drawing, which is the prototype of the engraving.
