Second part of the letter signed and seconded by Manuel Odriozola (Lima, 1826 - 1888), director of the National Library of Peru from 1875 until the beginning of the occupation of Lima (1881), written within the framework of the War of the Pacific ( 1879-1883). This document was written by Ricardo Palma (Lima, 1833 - 1919), deputy director of the institution at that time.
The document is addressed to Isaac Christiancy (New York, 1812 - Michigan, 1890), then American minister in Peru, and tells about the looting committed in the National Library of Peru by the Chilean authority in the period of the aforementioned war, expressing protest and indignation at such fact.
