Letter from Ono Shigeyuki/ Private collection

This letter was sent from Tachibana Muneshige’s former vassal, Ono Shigeyuki, to other former vassals, informing that Muneshige went to Edo. It is supposed to have been written in 1606 based on the content.
Muneshige regained the position of daimyo but it was not ranked as high as it used to be. This was made clear that Muneshige would not be able to employ all former vassals who were temporarily employed by the Kato family. With this, Shigeyuki seemed to have given up the hope and prepared for serving the Kato family.
