Tachibana Muneshige received archery licenses of full proficiency from Omura Jinzaemon in 1590, from Nakae Shinpachi in 1601, and from Yoshida Shigetake in 1602. During this period, Muneshige, at the age of 36, was in a difficult situation due to the punishment caused by the defeat of the Battle of Sekigahara which deprived of his position and territories.
