Starting from paper cutting that led to a winter trip in 2006 to Shan Bei, China, Wu Keng-Chen has witnessed skillful old ladies' vivacious and unadulterated ways of creating paper art, and through simple mundane experiences, the artist finds his own creative muses. Upon returning to Taiwan, Wu not only strives to refine his skills in the field of traditional paper art, he also attempts to redefine this art form with a contemporary twist by using modern lines and eye-catching characters. The color red is also used in fresh and lively ways. Wu has always lived in the city, and has recently started to take the bus. From his commutes, he sees that the trees by the streets, although breathing in polluted air, are still carrying on with photosynthesis. We, like the plants, live in the same urban setting and breathe the same air, and also strive to survive with strength.

The subjects of Wu's artworks maybe an opened umbrella in a heavy thunder storm, a broken-hearted single slipper, embracing shopping bags, and also the lighted advertisement signs where the models on display are constantly changing and perhaps even outdated colors or posters of movies that have not been seen. All these elements turn into lyric poems in Wu's works, and they bring joyful delights to the passengers while they wait at the bus stop.
