Exposed during the XXI Venice Biennale in 1938, this bronze artwork made the author win the great prize as “Best Italian Sculptor”. The whole artwork’s elaboration and maturation process has been long and it comes from the artist’s visits to Rome’s Zoo and to the Great Sneider Circus that used to be camped in Piazzale dei Prati Strozzi, both places chosen by the artist to study the animals and to be able to create the several sculptures that portray them.
