Beryl is a cyclosilicate that has several varieties of different colors, with emerald and aquamarine being the most popular.
Beryls have a great diversity of inclusions, sometimes giving the stone a slightly cloudy appearance if they are highly concentrated, as in the case of the green beryl in the photograph. By pointing it with adequate light, we can observe the inclusions in detail, which are possibly feldspar, quartz and mica crystals, the latter giving a very particular metallic shine.
