This short letter, written in haste, was probably le by Chopin for George Sand as he left the house. We do not know who Chopin had in mind or who accompanied the writer Marie-Constance-Albertine Montaran to the opera. Chopin adored song and ofen attended operas, not infrequently accompanied by friends and acquaintances.
