In the region of The Llanos in Colombia, cattle herding, and related activities have been prolific for the region since the first non-indigenous settlings in region. Thanks to this industry, men’s clothing has been influenced by Spanish herding traditions, but the indigenous influences from the original inhabitants of the region can also be seen.
The clothing is takes on the Spanish herding heritage adapted to the tropical plain's climate of the region; men usually wear lighter colors in shirts, in less abrasive materials for better body heat regulation. Their pants are made from lighter species of cotton that are key for horse riding with some opening by the calf, known in the region as Uña de Ganso o Pavo (Turkey’s Talon)
