The altarpiece represents the Madonna and Child with Saint Joseph, the archangel Raphael and Tobias. The predella representing the Visitation is now in the museum at Grenoble. Behind the main figures, whose graceful charm testifies to a connection with the art of Raphael and the region of Emilia, is a luxuriant landscape rendered in minute detail.
