A distinctive feature of Piotr Lutyński's works is combining natural materials, such as birds' eggs, grass, feathers, stones, insects and wax with ready-made objects and abstract painting. Malevich's Mannequin is a work that is untypical for the artist's oeuvre; it was created as a result of his fascination with space and extraterrestial civilisation. In 2015 NASA made photographic documentaion of Mars accessible. The pictures stirred the imagination of many enthusiasts of alien civilisations. Lutyński was particularly interested in the aspect of human dreams of conquest and expansion. A child's mannequin in a multicoloured costume is an allusion to the Russian painter Kazimir Malevich. The figurative paintings of the suprematist from the 1930s often feature faceless figures whose bodies are divided into colourful segments. Piotr Lutyński's mannequin is also an allusion to the C-3PO droid intruduced into pop culture by the Star Wars film series by George Lucas.

Piotr Lutyński (b. 1962) pursues painting, creates objects, installations and experimental music. In the years 1983–1990 studied at the University of Silesia. The co-founder of the improvised music band Rdzeń and founder of Rdzeń 2 group. He is interested in nature, quantum physics and cosmology.
