MANDODARI: This is a print from the Ravi Varma Press derived from a painting by Raja Ravi Varma. It is not sure if Raja Ravi Varma was inspired by the description of Mandodari, Ravana’s consort while painting this picture.

In this picture Mandodari is depicted as an aristocratic lady giving alms to a poor boy at the temple steps. The lady is attired in a tamil bramhin saree and is seen at the entrance of a Shiva temple as the Nandi is visible in the foreground.
