An aerial view of Manila during the American bombardment of Intramuros. The "Walled City" is obscured by smoke; much of the area close to the north bank of Pasig, levelled. Quezon Boulevard is on the left, joined by España (left corner) and crossed by Azcarraga (now CM Recto Avenue). The wheel-like structure on the lower left portion is the Bilibid compound and across, at the corner of España and Quezon Boulevard, is the U-shaped building of Far Eastern University. Running parallel to Quezon Boulevard, slightly curving to the right towards plaza Santa Cruz, is Rizal Avenue. All the bridges across the Pasig had already been blown
