Although many vehicles have disappeared, it has been possible to preserve the record of their existence through their identification plates. This is the case of Manufacturer's Plates - a kind of guarantee seal with the manufacturer's name, place and date of manufacture.
Deutz was a German company, located in Koln, that produced the first diesel locomotive that circulated in Portugal, which became popularly known as “Lydia”. It was acquired in 1938 by the Companhia Nacional de Caminhos de Ferro, for the Tua Line, where it circulated until 1940-1941.
