The manure tank was built by Dairy Farm to process the cattle manure collected in the pasture. The manure underwent natural fermentation in the tank and became fertilizer. Through the pipe network connected to the tank, the manure was sprayed onto the hill monthly to fertilize the grass. Some older villagers recall running around the hill in their childhood, and one of their fears was "cow manure chase". Sometimes they might run into the elephant grass patches. If the spray was turned on at that time, they had nowhere to escape but got sprayed with the manure fertilizers all over them. The only way to avoid getting scolded by their parents was to dive into the reservoir to clean themselves up.
