This map of the town of Mancha Real (Jaén) was a document entered as evidence in a legal dispute over boundaries. It is a unique document, not just because it is on parchment or because of its size, but because of the quality and detail of its representation of the town of Manchuela de Jaén, better known as Mancha Real. This urban structure, devised around a grid system, also gives the name of the owner-occupier of each “residential unit,” which makes the document even more valuable.
