As in the Baroque ballet, allegorical Mars appear on the stage causing wars and battles among nations. Since every army fights in its own way, the performance is planned as a martial ballet of nations. Mars lead the audience through memorable historical battles. From the military skirmishes in elegant France of Louis XIV, Spanish wars of the Golden Age, and fights in India of the magical Mahabrahta times, to the clashes between Poland and Turkey at the end of the 17th century when two armies faced at the battle of Vienna.
