Marxism is the most lucid and lively philosophy: a portrait of Lu Xun(鲁迅:马克思主义是最明快的哲学) was created in 1974 and is considered one of the most representative portraits of Lu Xun. In the picture, Lu Xun is standing behind the desk wearing a black gown, with a cigarette in his hand. He has short hair which looks like a brush, and stern and sharp thick eyebrows, as well as bushy beard as if a clerical script “一”. Although the style of the painting belongs to a special period of time, but its sophisticated techniques and composition, the plain, concise, lively and clear artistic conception are still attractive and full of emotional appeal today.
