Western Australia defeated Victoria to win the 1985-86 domestic one-day competition in Melbourne. Play on the 9 March 1986 was abandoned due to rain. On the 10th Western Australia collapsed to be 5-37 before Wayne Andrews (71) and Michael Cox (38) led W.A. to 167. W.A. fielded and bowled brilliantly to hold Victoria to 148, winning by 19 runs. In a match winning performance Graeme Porter took 3-28 off 8 overs.
