The oldest document in the General Archives of Andalusia is the sales deed of an estate in Guardacabriella given in 1338 by Medor Sánchez, a resident in Almodóvar del Río, to Urraca, wife of Martín Alfón de Saavedra, mayor of Cordoba, for 160 “maravedís”, in the presence of Fernán González and Gerónimo Ruiz, notaries of Cordoba.
