The West Indies domination of world cricket continued during 1984-85. In the first Test at Perth played 9-12 November 1984 the West Indies trounced Australia by an innings and 112 runs. Even though WA's Terry Alderman took 6-128, the West Indies starred with Larry Gomes making 127 and Jeff Dujon 139. Michael Holding destroyed Australia taking 6-21 first innings wickets off 9.2 overs.
