Meal, one of the photos of a great, collection showing mining works of the salt mine in Bochnia. It was made by a photographer from Bochnia, kazimierz Gargul. Horses played an important role for centuries in the salt mine in Bochnia, as they did in other mining complexes. Successive mechanisation of mining works in the Bochnia Mine, introduced since the German occupation, have eliminated the participation of horses in salt production. As a result of these changes, at the turn of the 1950s and 1960s, there was only one horse working in the mine, named Kuba, immortalised in this photo taken by kazimierz Gargul.
