Mining oil lamp

For more than 500 years, the Wieliczka mine was illuminated solely by the flames of simple mufflers. Beginning in the 15th century, metal open-ended candlesticks began to be used, which were more practical than clay candles. Those made of iron did not break in the harsh mine conditions.
