“Mochuelana” is a toponym used to refer to woman from Mochuelo, in the province of San Gil, Santander. Due the strong spanish presence in San Gil during colonial rule, the Mochuelana’s dress is very to the one from Spanish and European women.

Among this european attributes were the satin blouse made out high quality cloths, usually in softer tones and long sleeves. The chest was adorned with some folds and tucks.

The skirt was lengthy and wide, with a slip that help with the way the skirt draped down and stuck to the woman figure.
