MPavilion 2014 by Sean Godsell

MPavilion is a unique architecture commission and design event for Melbourne, initiated by the Naomi Milgrom Foundation with support from City of Melbourne and the Victorian State Government.

Each year for the next four years an outstanding architect will be commissioned to design a temporary pavilion for the Queen Victoria Gardens, in the centre of the vibrant Southbank Arts Precinct.

The 2014 MPavilion has been designed by Australian architect Sean Godsell. It's a new kind of clubhouse—a meeting place and a starting point from which to explore a free four-month program of talks, workshops, performances and installations from October to February.

After each season, MPavilion is gifted to the City of Melbourne from the Naomi Milgrom Foundation, relocating each build somewhere within the municipality. MPavilion 2014 now resides at the Hellenic Museum (former the Royal Mint) at 380 William St, Melbourne.
