Medina del Campo, Spain

Mudéjar wood ceiling with an octagonal plan of the coffered type with star-shaped lacework. This roof is a good example of the Christian construction technique of assembling pieces of wood with Muslim decorative designs based on geometric layouts. It rests on four trunks in whose corners were originally the coats of arms of the founders, Don Pedro de Ribera and Doña María de Medina -servants of the Catholic Monarchs-, whose names are read .in the inscription that runs around the entire perimeter of the armor.
