São Martinho d’Anta has “right at the top of a hill, outside the settlement at a distance of three musket shots to the North, a beautiful chapel with the image of Nossa Senhora da Azinheira, which is said to take its name from an old tree called Azinheira. This chapel is worshipped by many every day of the year, including many pilgrims who worship Our Lady, who is said to have wrought many wonders and miracles. The chapel also features the signs of the miracles on its walls” (CAPELA Et. Al., 2006: 436).
