Mauro Restiffe’s research inquires on the São Paulo, Taipei and Istanbul landscapes, modern interior architecture and everyday life scenes. Rigorous geometrical photographic compositions in shades of gray marked by intense granulation reveal the artist’s acute perception. His photographs of Brasília and Washington D.C. taken from unprivileged angles during the inaugurations of presidents Lula and Obama in 2003 and 2008, respectively, convey timeless qualities of the historic events.
