Nyala is a painting by Namibian / South African wildlife artist Zakkie Eloff (1925-2003). Eloff lived in Witrivier near the Kruger National Park and spent a large portion of his life painting and drawing the wildlife of South Africa here. The Nyala is a spiral horned antelope native to Southern Africa. Short Biography: Zacharias (Zakkie) Eloff was born in 1925 in the Waterberg district of Namibia. He studied under Walter Battiss and Maurice van Essche as well as at the University of Pretoria. The University of Pretoria held a retrospective exhibition for Eloff in 1987 where this work was purchased.
