Original Southwest Airlines Captain’s Collection

Captain Fred S. Deakins is a former Air Force pilot who flew combat missions in the Korean War, Vietnam War, and participated in the Berlin Airlift. Following his service, Captain Deakins became one of the original 12 pilots hired by Southwest Airlines in 1970. Among the items in this display are Deakins’ captain uniform, flight logbook, and many items pertaining to his flying career.
